Playing Around with the Macro Lens

I actually took these last year when I was playing around with our new macro lens (Canon EF-S Macro - 60mm - f/2.8 on a Canon T2i), but never posted them.  I took both photos in my very dark office and just let the camera figure things out.  In the end I was amazed how they turned out with virtually no set-up.

The top photo is of one of my favorite pieces from one of my favorite movies growing up, a figure of Talos from Jason and the Argonauts.  The figure is only 4" high, but the detail is still very impressive.  You can't see it in the photo, but the figure is posed as Talos straddles the inlet and a very tiny Argo sails underneath.

The bottom photo is actually a Hallmark Christmas ornament I got a few years ago.  It really is a nice rendition of an AT-AT with a snow speeder (not pictured) flying the tow cable around the AT-AT's legs.  This figure is also only 4" tall.

James Bond Art Contest Submission

Here is something I threw together for the James Bond Art contest over at Super Punch.  I tried to keep things simple and iconic.  I also decided to make it a generic poster and not about a specific book or movie.
